The Foundation
exists to enhance the quality and availability of heathcare
services in our community.
The Foundation raises money to ensure capital equipment is
available for residents of the South Huron Hospital catchment
area. The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care funds South
Huron Hospital's operating budget; however replacement or
purchase
of diagnostic and other medical equipment must be funded from
other sources.
The Foundation was incorporated in 1982 and was a subcommittee
of the board until 2001 when it became a separate entity.
The Foundation currently has 11 volunteer members. Approximately
$200,000/yr has been provided by the Foundation for necessary
patient equipment.
