South Huron Hospital Foundation and myFM prepare for 3rd Annual Radiothon
Exeter, ON, October 13, 2016 – South Huron Hospital Foundation and myFM 90.5 Exeter/Grand Bend are busy preparing for the 3rd annual Radiothon, with proceeds this year being directed to Jessica’s House – a residential hospice.
“myFM 90.5 Exeter/ Grand Bend, part of the MY Broadcasting Corporation, Ontario’s Local Broadcasting Company, is excited to be a partner with the South Huron Hospital Foundation again this fall,” says Robin Glenny, General Manager myFm Broadcasting Corporation, “ and to be part of its fundraising efforts, on behalf of the South Huron Hospital, through our annual Radiothon. With the support of local businesses, such as Hansen’s, Your Independent Grocer and Hay Communications, the event will be a wonderful success, and provide necessary support to Jessica’s House.
The organizers of the event are still looking for local personalities to help on air that day, volunteers to staff the phones and most important, individuals, businesses, schools and organizations to participate by raising funds and phoning them in, or coming to Hansen’s grocery store to make your gift in person.
Last year the Radiothon raised $36,862.65 bringing the total raised to $75,243.25 in just two years. “This is a significant source of revenue for the Foundation and we love being able to produce this locally.” Says Kimberley Payne, Executive Director, South Huron Hospital Foundation. “ Please call in or even better come and see us and make your donation in person. Be sure to listen in to hear how residential hospice has impacted people personally, and why it is so important for this work to be successful in Huron County.”
“South Huron Hospital Foundation Board members and Hospice Steering Committee members will be on location to answer your questions about Jessica’s House, and how you can be a part of the work now and involved later.” Says Deb Homuth, Co-chair Steering Committee for Jessica’s House. “ There is such great energy around this project and we welcome the opportunity to accept both your gifts and your questions.”
“We have had so many great offers of support for the build, 3rd party events to raise funds and incredible participation in voting for our AVIVA fund application. We live in a generous community and we continue to need your support. We look forward to seeing you and hearing from you on October 21st” says Pat O’Rourke, Board Chair South Huron Hospital Foundation.
Friday, October 21st is the date of the annual Radiothon, and set up will be inside Hansen’s grocery store from 8-3pm that day. Hay Communications will be providing the technical requirements to ensure the day runs smoothly.
